NOTICE TO READERS
Dear Readers,
I see the need for information out there, and I don't have the energy or the ambition to write anything profound, interesting, or even remotely funny.
On the other hand, I try to answer emails written to me, honestly, informatively, and they can be of interest to more than the person who wrote to me, so if and when I have the time, I'll post the mail and the response here, so check back to see what others are interested in, an what I had to say about the topic.
God bless you, and stay safe. Summer is coming. That is good news to some of us. I, personally, can't stand the heat. Oh, well, who said I have to.

From my correspondence:
Sophie-
My name is Rich and I am new to the area (from Chicago). I just wanted to share with you how much I respect and applaud the open, mature, healthy and light-hearted way in which you support and promote adult entertainment. Please don't ever think that your work--including your columns--goes unnoticed. In fact there are a lot of well-connected men who, despite what they might otherwise admit to in public, can be counted among your fan club.
I gather from your words that your work keeps you very busy. But if you can ever get out of the office--perhaps to one of the clubs...I'd love to stop by and chat with you. In the mean time, keep up the good work.
Rich
Thank you, Rich, I appreciate you saying what you said. I have no idea if people ever read what I write unless someone says so. Maybe that's why I've stopped writing. And really, really, publishing. I felt I am talking to vacuum.
With regards to getting together, you need to enroll me.
Take care,
Sophie
Sophie-
Thanks for writing back. You are a sweetheart for paying such diligent
attention to your "public". If you have time, a few publishing questions
for you. In the February edition of Mentertainment (the only one I have
found), there was a helpful listing of adult clubs--thanks. As I am
relatively new to NJ, I have been exploring and checking out some of these
clubs. As you know, there is a huge range--in terms of atmosphere, charm of
the women and food quality--among the clubs! Unfortunately, I have been
disappointed at two things: several of the clubs listed have been closed
(Is there a common phenomenon that is causing this?); and I have yet to find
a place that has your magazine available. Hence, I am stuck with February
as my only issue.
I know you are busy, so I'll end with these questions. What clubs in the
north/central Jersey area do you think are the highest quality? At what
clubs in this area am I most likely to find your magazine.
Thanks for your guidance...and keep up the good work.
Rich
Rich,
The February was the very last issue I published. I don't intend to publish on paper any more, so you are holding the last piece of evidence that I have ever published.
I haven't been to the clubs, so I have no answers for you. If any clubs appear in the club directory part of that February issue, please let me know, so that I can update the directory.
With regards to my plans for the future: they are not clear. I don't think I want to stay who I have been, an expert on adult dancing and clubs in the NorthEast region of the US.
When I'll know what's next for me, I'll let you know. In the meantime, when I have time, I'll update this site, but I must make a living.
I have been busy in developing sections of the site to be able to make money with them, with not much success. The escorts section is very busy, and I am interested in developing the site, especially the areas with the need to stay fresh in a customer driven editable way, so that when a club closes or opens, people can add it to the directory without having to haggle with me, or me having to work on the pages, and spend valuable time.
Enjoy the summer, and thanks for writing.

NEW!
New! The May Adult Stars Fanclub issue is all about Jenna Jameson. Tons of pictures, bio, etc. Check out the first installment. It will come out in 3 installments, May 1, May 10, May 20. If I can keep it up, I will come out with an issue every 10 days... wish me luck, health, and all the goodies I will need to be able to pull this off.
If and when you check out these issues, you will notice that some of the info is restricted to those who buy a username and password for $6.95 a month. If you ever asked how I get paid for all the 18 hours a day, 7 days a week tireless work I do for this site, don't go any further! It is these $6.95's that pay my rent, keep my Internet Provider happy, buys film, and puts a shirt on my back. So, please don't feel bad that I am charging for the information. What would YOU do if this was the way YOU make a living? Starve?
Yours truly,
Sophie, your webmistress
PS: For your information: there are 4,000 pages and 13,000 pictures are on this site. 10,000 pictures are unique, nowhere else to be found content, that were created originally for Sophie's Mentertainment Magazine, that was published in 90,000 monthly circulation for 10 happy years.
The information in the magazine was paid for, mainly, by advertising. Because of the nature of the Internet, and the fickle nature of the average American guy, and the wanna-bees, and whatever, people don't want to pay for anything over the Internet, thus plunging it into mediocrity, and the talented, hardworking individuals that want to provide unique content, into poverty, no kidding.
Charging a minimal fee for information is what I am trying to do... You want the most complete information on all adult stars: you pay. You don't: you don't. That is the deal.
Just opened!
We just opened a members upload area for adult stars pictures. Upload your pictures on your hard drive, and 1. make it available to other fans 2. make it available to Sophie, so that I can have the largest, most complete adult stars fanclub site in the world!
Click here for the Adult fanclub visitors upload area. You can also view others' pictures.
Coming soon: I am in the process of installing a bulleting board system for you love-lorn fans, so that you can swap ideas, addresses, complaints, stories, pictures, whatever you have. Hold tight; it won't take long!
Love you!
Sophie

Hi, Guys!
I have some NYC features on the current calendar, so if you are interested, please check it out. Lots of new things are happening at the website, that's probably I have been out of communication for over a month. I have been working. I have a hard time talking and working at the same time, though people have no idea what I am up to until it is actually done, give that I don't talk. Sorry.
There have been at least 100 pages added since I last wrote into this column, mostly interactive stuff, forms,
Nasty picture-posts, two places where visitors can upload their pictures,
Nasty picture-exchange
and a picture-exchange for adult stars fans,
a new feature-adult star monthly publication, too much to even list it.
I am too busy to even write this column properly. Thank you for bearing with me all through this. There are 10,000 people at this site, every day, I get 300 pieces of email a day, and I still don't have anyone working with me. Not that people haven't applied for a job yet, but as of now, I don't want anyone who wants a job. I don't have work for someone who works for money. I never have, and never will. I want someone like me. Keep on dreaming? I am keeping on...

PS: FYI: Jersey Dave is gone, for good.
| Thursday, February 18, 1999 7:53:43 PM |
Hi, Guys!
This for those of you who know Jersey Dave. His Mother died last Sunday. He is in Ohio, taking care of things, mourning, and he will be back, hopefully, soon.
For some reason I don't have much to say lately, it feels too risky to reveal my thoughts, so I don't. I hope I get my voice back soon, otherwise, I guess, will have to call this area "not so current" <g>
I did a party last week at Cinderella's in Elizabeth, NJ, and it was spectacular. The place was so packed, I felt like it was the 80's. It was fun, and I felt nostalgic for the good old days.
The next party will be down at the Jersey Shore, at Fantasie's, if everything goes well. Because I don't have a car, I had to take a taxi to come home, I had a ride to go there. I can't afford the hundred dollars to come back from Keyport, so unless I'll have a ride, I won't be able to do a party. Unless Dave is back by then... Let's hope.
Take care.

Hi, Guys!
I am busy, but stopped to let you know that most of the February issue of the New Jersey edition is posted. Please check it out. There is some good stuff, and some very important stuff there.
Thank you.

Hi, Guys!
Hi, this is Sophie the Editor here!
Well, the good news is that most of the current issue is posted. The bad news is that not all of it... and this is probably the last time that I spend sooooo much time doing it. It either will go faster, or it has to be simpler.
What else? I have posted the Mentertainment Party Schedule on the right of this column, and I'll update it frequently.
I am getting tons of feedback to the issue.
Feedback #1: A call-girl who is running a tiny $20 ad in the magazine has gotten tons of calls, that totally surprised me. Why is it that you guys call a small ad more willingly than a big one? If you have it in you... please drop me a line (email) with some explanation? Thanks
Feedback #2: I got an email from a former manager of Tattle Tales Lounge in Irvington with a very different "tale" than mine, and I decided to publish it. Unfortunately the photos he sent are not released for publication, but they are mighty historical and interesting, trust me. Click here to read the email conversation about Tattle Tales.
Feedback #3: Clubowners are still only interested in what they can get, but not interested in paying for their advertising. So publishing Mentertainment Magazine is still an unrewarding experience, humiliating, to say the least.
Feedback #4: "Small" advertisers are wonderful -- and appreciative. Two of my advertisers decided to look for an inexpensive used car for me, and pay for it: maybe I'll decide to continue publishing the magazine. Very nice. Thank you.
Love you guys, thank you for using the magazine and this website. At this moment 10,000 visitors a day come to check out what's happening in the adult entertainment industry. If I could get just 10 cents from all of you, I would feel well-paid and appreciated. Would you pay a membership fee if I decided to charge? Please respond. Thank you.

Hi, Guys!
Hi, this is Sophie the Editor here!
I always think that I can and will post some personal or not so personal notes here, every day, in the worst case, every other day. And then life takes over, and I notice that sometimes weeks pass before I get to posting my notes again.
As many of you probably know, the New Jersey edition of the magazine is published, truthfully, it has been in the clubs for 3 weeks. And this is the first time I either had time or felt like saying anything. Don't ask why, I don't quite know.
I have been trying to post the magazine on the site, the pages, ads, photos, articles, and it is a daunting task. Even without the ads. But I can't say no to something I haven't tried. So I am still trying, and it is going very slowly.
The good thing that has come out of this, is that I finished posting the issue that I could not finish posting before I fell too ill to work, or think, or anything. Check out that issue, and I promise the current issue will be up by Monday... Oh, these promises! They are driving me crazy.
Also, I posted some great articles about clubs and other stuff, written by assc writers. Good stuff. Check it out.
Thanks.
Our party at Stars & Bars this past Wednesday was very good, lots of people, very good music, the girls were plenty, and willing, and the banana show was good and appreciated: thank you. We hung out there, Dave and I, till 2:30. I hope you come to the next one, or the one after. This is the schedule: Thu Jan 21: Tattle Tale, Irvington/Union border; Fri Jan 29: Squeeze Bar, Weehawken; both are go-go (Stars & Bars was/is nude), and nice places with food, girls, music, and they know how to make a party memorable.
Love you guys,

Hi, Guys!
Hi, this is Sophie the Editor here!
I think I wasn't very clear. I need as much info on NYC clubs as you can let me have. For example: which clubs are closed, what format do the ones that are open, have.
Last night I spend hours on the computer trying to come up with an updated club directory for the NYC area, to no avail. I have info only about half of the clubs. Please help!
Thanks.

Hi, Guys!
I have been working like I used to: Day & Night. And I will admit, this time I actually enjoy it. Jersey Dave and myself are getting along well, and the fact that I am not doing it alone, is wonderful. I hope it will last.
If you look at the Calendar of Events page, it is bursting with events, and hopefully I will be able to post the few hundred new clubdancer pictures we have in the office... it is a lot of scanning though. But somehow I'll get through it. There have been no takers for the scanning position I have been trying to fill, especially because I don't want the pictures to leave the office... and that means someone has to schlepp to Linden, NJ, where the office is. Oh, well, one day...
The drawing for the computer-raffle is this coming Tuesday, stay tuned.

Hi, Guys!
I got an email from a NYC club-goer, and it prompted me to create an interactive bulletin board system for posting comments and news about the NYC club-scene. If you want to post a club review, please do that, maybe, in a separate thread, we shall see how it goes. You can always email me, and I'll post it. Especially if you are not sure how to format an article: I know, and I'll post it for you. The entrance to the thread is in the right hand column of this "Current" page. Check it out!
Thanks,
Sophie

Hi, Guys!
As I promised, here is the report of what's going on: Jersey Dave, who has 3 years in this industry as a salesman and a guy who makes things happen, joined me at Mentertainment, and from the next issue on, we will have a new name for the New Jersey edition, it will be Jersey Dave's Mentertainment.
I accompanied him for a week on his calls, we spoke with owners, took pictures, and then I needed a whole weekend to recover. The guy works like he is on speed. But aside being overwhelmed, I am overjoyed. Due to my illness the New Jersey magazine was losing its foothold and now it has a new chance to prosper, and inform the many tens of thousands of fans. The reception of a partnership between two competing forces has met approval from every club-owner we have spoken with: hurrah!
Another kind of news: I have been going to school to program interactive web-sites, and I have a few new forms up:
- you can place a free help wanted ad, online
- you can post a free link to an adult type site, online
- of course, you can still sign up for the FREE computer raffle, the drawing will be on Dec 15, don't miss it.
- I am working on a signup form for escorts, massage places, and bachelor party dancers, and also on a new/closed/correction list for clubs... I really enjoy doing this kind of work. In the end I'll be a geek. What the hell...
Anyway, that's the news, I am back to the healthy, normal, happy Sophie I used to be before this illness hit me. Many of you never knew me like this. Well, get used to it!
Thanks,
Sophie

Hi, Guys!
There are some exciting news at Mentertainment. I am extremely busy at this moment, but I'll have some time tomorrow, and I'll write everything down. You'll like it, I promise.
In the meantime, for the fanclub site members, I posted a link to cca. 700 pictures, that I think you'll like. I am working on getting more, and I am doing well in the negotiations, also there will be, very soon, lots more clubpictures posted, some out of the 4-5 thousand I have in drawers, some brand new, some from the last issue, lots of pictures are waiting here to be scanned, posted, sorted, renamed, etc. I wish I had 12 arms, or at least a few competent volunteers to help. Maybe, in the near future, I'll be able to afford PAID help, G-d forbid
Just that you know, I get calls from volunteers, but mostly they have a great idea, but no time. What a bummer. Guys, be prepared to have time, when you call, OK?
Thanks,
Sophie

Hi, Guys!
1. Correction, there are about 30 new interviews, instead of the 12, that I mentioned in my previous "saga" note. Check them out. They are put in the "FREE" area. There are of course much more in the "Members Only" areas. interviews page.
2. I think the Universe provides to those that are ready. And from different signs, I have to assume that I am ready. I wasn't ready, and I am ready now. It is premature to air the details, but some good stuff is happening, and I let you know all about it, as soon as I am sure, that it is not a fluke. Cross your fingers for me, I think I deserve a break. Wouldn't you think so?
I posted a pictorial from Hipps on Staten Island, today, at Hipps pictorial. The new stuff is on pages 3 and on. I think it's 4 pages.
I need help! I need someone who is willing to do some scanning for me, on my system. Please don't ask me to give you hard copy, I can't. The model releases don't allow me to let pictures leave my desk, sorry. If you can help, Sat/Sun also ok, please give me a buzz, email me.
Thanks,
Sophie

I just posted links to 12 articles on feature entertainers on the interviews page, and also check out a new section that you don't want to miss, "All About Porn". Visit it. It's free.

Hi, Guys!
I have been busy with all kinds of good stuff, getting our membership site lots of material... and negotiating with some people to take over the publishing part of the magazine, so I can concentrate on the content part, take more pictures, interview more dancers, write more editorials and club reviews.
I started publishing Mentertainment Magazine 10 years ago, and mostly I did all the work... what a mistake. I am willing to give that up, and do what I do best, and that is photography and writing... and maybe I am not that shabby as a website designer either.
I have also been taking courses on CGI and Perl... for those of you who don't know what those are, they are programming languages to make the website interactive. As a result of my newfound knowledge, there will be a search engine to find anything written on this site, and maybe I'll even add the names of the dancers, so that you can find your favorite.
I have to run to a class now, but I wanted to make a request before I run off: is anyone out there, preferably from New Jersey, who could help with HTML, scanning, and other stuff with the web-site? Also, I need a cheap but good car, I have absolutely NO transportation. Email me. I am very appreciative if and when anyone helps. Please. Thanks.

Guys,
I goofed!
I started to advertise the raffle too late, and it has only brought two applications. I thought every guy will want a computer, of course, and we would have a few hundred people sign up, but I was wrong. So I did not do a drawing today, instead I am redesigning the raffle the following way:
I will raffle off custom t-shirts monthly, on the 15th of each month, That is to say October 15, November 15, etc. One t-shirt for every 10 subscriber on our Adult Stars Membership site. (Membership is $6.95/month, and the information that's there is the best on the entire Internet! No kidding.) At this point we have about 200 subscribers, so it's 10 shirts a month. Hopefully the site will attract more subscribers, and then we can do bigger and better things.
In addition to the T-shirts, I'll raffle off a computer, a 400 MHz Pentium machine, with a monitor, in time for Christmas, on December 15. You can sign up for the drawing at any time between now and December 15, at the Signup Form, or fill it out, print it out and send it to us by mail. Mail entries to "Sophie's Mentertainment Online, 1465 Rt 23 PMB 109, Wayne, NJ 07470.
Drawings are held in the presence of a notary public. We are still negotiating to combine the drawings with a Mentertainment Party in one of the NY/NJ/CT clubs, so that if you live in the area, you can also attend.
We are working on live broadcasting the events on the website... So far no club was willing to go for it.
I apologize for changing my mind... I know it is not nice, and I did what is best for the company and for me. I hope you forgive me.
Sophie
PS: Please let me know what you think about this promotion. email me. Thanks. Sophie

Guys,
Unbelievable, I haven't written anything on this page for 6 weeks, maybe even 7.
What the heck was I doing for 7 weeks? I was first dieing, then being operated on, and now I am recovering. And with G-d's help, I'll be good and ready to live to be 120.
To promote this site and our new Membership Site I decided to do give away every two weeks a computer+monitor, an inkjet printer, and 10 custom T-shirts. Everyone can participate, it's free. Check it out!
Drawings are held twice a month, in the presence of a notary public, on the 1st and the 15th of every month, in the evening. We are negotiating to combine the drawings with a Mentertainment Party in one of the NY/NJ/CT clubs, so that if you live in the area, you can also attend.
Next drawing will be on October 1, 1998.
We are working on live broadcasting the event on the website, but probably won't be ready for that before the October 15th drawing. Stay tuned...
Sophie

Guys,
I have fixed this page, thanks to a reader who was irate, but at least he wrote to me. So now, with G-d's help, it's fixed.
Another reader is telling me that Jill Morley, is back in NYC. Her fans can see her show Aug 13th-15th and Aug 19th-20th at
Mother, 875 Washington St, 212-459-4352 for reservations. Read the Jill Morley interview for more info.
I love you. Please be in touch with me. I love your letters, and I love you. Even when you complain. Or sometimes I love that you let me know, and I hate that I make mistakes.
Sophie
PS: Tomorrow, I'll really call all the clubs I can, and post the current calendar. Sorry it's been taking so long.
Monday, August 03, 1998 7:34:06 PM
Guys,
As I am working on the magazine I am noticing that my body is resisting putting this magazine together. The recent victory to the dictatorship type leadership in NYC and 5 boros has left me listless, not wanting to live. I know what is coming, and I don't think there are enough people who are awake (undrugged) enough to put up any resistance.
I am posting something that just came in the mail, and I will continue posting controversial but true pieces, written by people at all walks of life, mostly scientists and politicians, that are designed to open your eyes. Till the day the FBI disappears me.
I was born in Hungary to Holocaust survivors. My mother was tortured for secrets about who knows what. They burned her sole with flames, dropped water on her head, beat her. She was 2 months pregnant with my brother. She didn't speak. Freedom of an entire nation was more important to her than her own welfare.
I am my mother's daughter. Unfortunately my mother passed away 3 years ago. In her later years she became complacent and meek. In that, I don't follow her footsteps. I was born a fighter, a winner, a leader. I will live my destiny. Scared I may feel, but scared I will not act!
Here is your poem. And while I know that Giuliani is not acting on his own behalf, you stop him, you at least gain some practice how to stop the machinery that is designed to enslave you in Socialism.
A Giuliani inspired satire of
Pastor Niemoeller classic Holocaust poem
First they came for the Cab Drivers
and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Cab Driver.
Then they came for the Street Vendors
and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Street Vendor
Then they came for the Strippers
and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Stripper
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.
Stop Giuliani!!
I love you. Please be in touch with me.
Sophie
