I am noticing that I am making promises that I don't keep. Ooops, sorry, guys, won't happen again.
I don't have much time to hang out on this page, a magazine (printed) has to be produced, 3 editions, 120 pages, total, I am not looking forward to it.
I am getting some funky images from friends lately, jokes, etc. Let me let you have it.
This was the longest ever that the site has been down it its 18 month history. I apologize for that. It's been a struggle, money issues, mainly.
Well, it's up now, and it's slow, so I probably need to invest some more money to make it faster. Shoot.
Tomorrow, or maybe even later tonight, when my mind is going to be a little clearer, I'll talk about the NYC zoning law and what's going on; what else can be done, if it is not too late, and about my plans for Mentertainment Online's future.
Bear with me. Thanks. I've missed you the last two weeks or so. I got tons of complaints that the site's been down, and it was welcome: at least live contact. Talk to you again within 24 hours.
Love,
There was a programming error on the new pictures page, and now I have corrected it. Check it out! Sophie

Guys!
Finally, as I was working on the pictures from the last issue, I installed Adobe Photoshop on the PC (I'd had it for almost a year now!) and I saw how easy it is to batch-process files. So I found 133 great scans from almost two years ago, and I processed them and I posted them. (click on the blinking button for the pictures!) It was easy, and it took yesterday from 10 am to 2 am today. That is 16 hours. This is what qualifies as easy in my profession.
I hope you had a great 4th, I have never had my neighborhood so quiet, no mowing of the lawn, no cars moving, even my cats (2+3) were respectfully quiet and well-behaved. It was fun to work, the phone didn't ring, there was a slight breeze all day... heaven. I hope those Florida folks got a break from those raging fires too. I am rooting for them. I know what it is like to be homeless. (No, don't worry, this time I won't get mushy...)
I went to Hott 22 on Rt 22, NJ Friday night, and took some hopefully great pictures. I took Bourbon Street off the distribution list, because they wanted to put all the magazines to the office. That's not where guys like you can find them! So if you are used to get your mag at Bourbon Street, you now have to go to Marley Bones, it's about a 3 minute drive from Bourbon. Continue South on Rt 9, bear left, slip off to Rt 34 South, 2 minutes down the road on the right hand side a big sign says "PUB". That's Marley Bones. They will have the magazines.
Delivering this month was great. People love me. And I Love You!

Guys!
All the articles, letters, interview, club reviews, are posted, Sophie's Mentertainment® Magazine: mid-June issue
but I am still waiting for the printer to mail me my ZIP cartridges with the pictures...
bummer.
The July calendar is posted, it also has now little pictures of the performers, including myself sucking a banana.

Guys! Finally, 3 weeks late, but the June magazine is printed. I haven't seen it yet, but the printer called that I'll get it today.
It was a hard birth. It was hard because in addition to the usual things, I was going through massive transformation while I was doing it.
I was starting out going through the motions, still weak, still hopeless, and in the corner of my mind it wasn't worth it. It wasn't worth it to work so hard, it wasn't worth it, even if I succeed. And it wasn't worth getting up in the morning, wasn't worth keeping my place neat, filing away stuff, backing up my hard drive. etc.
It was an inaudible voice, always there, always ready to tell me it was hopeless and not worth it. It was so quiet, that I didn't get conscious of it until a question at one of my favorite self-improvement seminars drove it out to the open. Once I heard it, out-loud, I could take back my own control, and say: "It is worth it, because I say so."
Since then my behavior and mood changed a lot, pictures got filed, hard drives - if not backed up, at least got ready to be backed up, I still don't have a tape-drive. I am poor, all that trying to get by, and illness, what do you want from me. But the first few hundred loose dollars will buy a tape drive, I promise, it is dangerous not to have a backup. I've lost an additional 100 MBs of jpgegs this month... in addition to the 3 hard drives with the 10 gigabytes that I lost last fall.
My first Mac had a 20 MB hard drive, that was almost enough to put a magazine on it... and the operating system and the programs. That was 10 years ago. Today I have tens of gigabytes on nine computers, and I always need new space. Isn't that something?
I will post the new issue within a few days, probably one article, one pictorial, one interview at a time. I will put a link on this page, it's been more and more difficult finding stuff on my site. I am also busy delivering magazines, and printing colorful Mentertainment T-shirts for our Thursday, June 25th party at Bar H in Hazlet, NJ. If you can, please come and say hello. It seems that I will be my own MC... that will be quite interesting given my accent. But don't fret, I am funny. And I don't bite. At least not in public. Wait till you read my editorial!

Guys! I just got back from Long Island, NY. I was there to see Janine Lindemulder (Janine from Blondage) and to write a review about the Jolt club. You can read the review and see the pictures in the next issue of Mentertainment, and soon after on Mentertainment Online.
I also spent almost all of Thursday on the Island. I would like to get more business there, and I need your help. I need help in finding more distribution points for the magazine, mostly adult book stores, I think I have all the clubs, and I need help in sales. I may need a sales person, part time, (there is not enough business for a full time income,) or just you to tell club owners, massage parlors, video stores, escorts, whoever should advertise, that you love Mentertainment. Because I hope you do! Do you?
Please let me know what you think, what you can do for me, what I can do for you, and really, if you like the magazine. OK? I love you and I need you.
Love,
Sophie

New! Guys!
I just came back from Staten Island, where I interviewed Devon Michaels, 5'2" Miss World Brunette, Best Body, Best Erotic Entertainer, just to name a few of her titles. She is the same Devon who, for about 4 years worked as a house dancer at Gallagher's II in Queens, at Pure Platinum and at Scores in Manhattan between 1990 and 1993. She was already a great entertainer, lots of following, but since then she appeared in dozens of magazines, she works out, her body is tight and yet supple, her show is entertaining, sometimes dramatic, always new, and her smile shows that she loves what she does. I saw her show last night and loved it: great costume, fantastic lotion show with the lotion hitting her face like a fountain of long suppressed desire.
Go and see her. Tell her I told you about her. Even if you knew her in her New Yorker years. It will get me brownie points. I'll go again tomorrow night to photograph her for the cover, I'll go to the 8 o'clock show, because I expect that show to be slow. Surprise me. I'd love to have you help me there.
Love you as always. Sophie, your publisher/editor/web-mistress

New! Guys!
I am too busy to write anything long. I just came back from Binghamton, Upstate NY, where we had the first Miss Upstate NY Pageant. It was a good show, with lots of beautiful, talented, imaginative girls, a good fashion show, and a very pleasant club with a great atmosphere. This was my first visit in that area, and was very surprised to be known, and treated with so much respect.
I've posted the events for April, at least the feature appearances, I'll add the club parties probably tomorrow or the day after. Take care and talk to you in a few days.
Love you as always. Sophie, your publisher/editor/web-mistress

New! Guys!
It's crazy! When in November I decided to pick it up where I left it (to publish the print magazine again, as if nothing happened) I didn't know that it was a CRAZY decision.
I am still doing it all myself, I don't have a running car, I have parties, deadlines, customers, mailing, tons of email, I am going bonkers.
We had our first Mentertainment Party in a long time, last Thursday, and it was wall to wall people. Nice people, I must add. It was at Squeeze, in Weehawken, NJ, and the club did much better than expected: they had incredible food, hot and cold buffet, fresh, delicious, they had more than 30 dancers, all good looking, we gave away lots of T-shirts, it was great!
Poor DJ Angelo, he tried to be the MC and the DJ at the same time, impossible! But I think everybody else had fun... so thank you Angelo.
The club (Squeeze) was so inspired by this success, that they are doing a Go-Go Rama on April 2nd, that's a Thursday again, same setup, except for the Mentertainment involvement. We shall see if a party is just as successful without us :-)).
Our next Mentertainment Party is in Brooklyn, NY, at the relatively new Pumps. The club used to be a tiny diner, so we are not even bringing microphones, we are going to yell. It's the club with the best atmosphere ever, and if you are reading this, and if you are available Saturday, March 21, the first day of spring, please come, and say hello to me. I am trying to make some special T-shirts for the occasion, and DJ Angelo will be with me too. We'll even have someone to take pictures, so that I have more time to socialize. Please come.
See you at Pumps. Click here for Pumps' address/phone. Sophie, your publisher/editor/web-mistress

New! Guys!
I have been getting tons of email regarding the rezoning on NYC to zone out the adult establishments. I asked a friend of mine to get me some posts from ass-c, alt.sex.strip-clubs newsgroup, because they may know more than I do. He sent me some newspaper articles and some assc posts. If you are interested, check them out. Read the NYC rezoning articles and posts here (Photos were taken by Stephen B., and you can read his commentary by clicking here Commentary)
I also got the flyer that was distributed at the demonstration on Friday, I'll type it up and post it later today, or tomorrow, as my time permits.
Love you and thanks. Sophie, your publisher/editor/web-mistress

New! Guys!
I just posted the totally updated Canada gentlemen's club directory. This directory stuff has been the lifeblood of Mentertainment®, ever since I published the first directory 10 years ago, I spend many hours every month to keep it clean and updated. It is not an easy task, but it is well worth the energy and effort that goes into it: my entire credibility stands on it.
Guess how I manage to keep a directory of 2500 clubs clean? You guessed right, if you did: readers like you, generous and unselfish, email, mail, phone me with the corrections, with the news of clubs burning down, being shut down, being leveled as a result of "rezoning", or as it may be the case, new clubs opening, or clubs changing their name that has collected too much bad publicity.
Please, guys, keep on keeping me abreast of what's happening. And I'll do the same, in areas where I get info that you don't. Like the demonstration yesterday in front of the NYC Court of Appeals (Supreme Court) where there was a peaceful demonstration of owners, employees, and supporters of adult establishments in the 5 boros of New York City. As you probably know, Mayor Giuliani wants to "clean up" the City, they call it "The Quality of Life" Campaign, I think, and their most important activity is to put a police officer on every corner, and to interfere with your freedom of choice of entertainment. They rezoned all areas of the city to make it illegal to operate adult establishments: gentlemen's clubs, book stores, adult cinemas, peep-shows, and offer a few, limited, out of traffic industrial areas to relocate to, where the present owners are unwilling, so far, to sell or lease for adult entertainment purposes. In essence: employees of clubs, dancers, bouncers, barmaids, managers, will be without income, owners will lose their investment, and customers, like you, won't have a place to see beautiful naked or half naked women, to delight in, to be turned on by, to be entertained by.
Nasty Rudy. If he could, he would brainwash you and tell you that even the thought of sex, other than the times when you impregnate your lawful wife, are against g-d and against the quality of life. What a nasty trick. Just like a few years ago they invented the AIDS virus to stop you from having sex, now they want to stop you of even thinking about sex.
Another dangerous element of this "Quality of Life" movement is that it is dangerously similar to what happened in Germany 60-65 years ago. So don't be mistaken, this is not the last step towards eliminating freedom of expression, or freedom of choice, it is the first. The next ones are coming. If we let this pass. "Over my dead body" I say. 34 adults and children of my immediate family died at the hands of the Nazis, in forced labor camps or in concentration camps. Whoever it didn't touch immediately, didn't say a word. Even the Jews couldn't believe this was happening to them. They never spoke up. 34 people! If a disgruntled employee goes to a post office and opens fire and kills 3 people, the newspapers are filled up with it for weeks. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. 34 people died at the hands of the Nazis, just from my immediate family. Think about it. Is your family next?

New! Guys!
The February magazine is being delivered, as we speak. G-d bless, I am not delivering it personally this time. The last delivery almost killed both me and the magazine. I am still ill... hopefully only for another few days. At least I know now what's ailing me: I am seriously Iron deficient. You may not care, but you should: people around me are dying of nutritional deficiencies and mistakes. Two major things you should consider: 1. eat according to your genetic heritage that expresses itself in your blood-type. 2. choose a complete vitamin/mineral/amino-acid/herbs supplement. If you are a woman, add iron to it. If you want a recommendation for a good supplement: email me. I am taking the best, and can steer you into the right direction. Also, I have the appropriate diet for all blood types, so email me for that too. *** I know, I sound like your mother. Sorry.............
The visitor count suddenly jumped about a week ago, inexplicably, maybe, unless you have discovered the additional free videos that change daily. I have been watching them myself. This is the first time I have ever watched a gay video: fascinating.
Today I updated the directory listings for the Northeast region, I'll do the other regions as soon as I have time. (Note from Sunday, March 01, 1998 12:38:17 AM: You won't believe this: since I posted this change, maybe 2 days, max, one club burned down, Catwalk in CT, several got closed, raided, etc. What a world we live in... it is hard to keep up! A clubowner asked me today if I would testify in his case against the local zealot towns-heads and police, and describe to the judge how lap dance is done all over the US. With pleasure; if I can stop those corrupt pretentious assholes from doing more damage to this country, to the freedom of its citizen, to the Constitution... I'll do my best. I've lived in two countries before, I want to settle down in a decent country. We have some work to do guys!)
I just posted the events for February/March feature appearances and parties. Also, Mentertainment will have 4 parties in the coming month... be prepared. Some major events are coming up too... I just wish I didn't have to be so busy. I am in the middle of finishing the February magazine... then printing, mailing, delivery, god save the king . I still need help! paid help. But I need educated, dedicated, smart, with a good eye, perfect spelling (no kidding!), great telephone skills, trainable on the computer and otherwise. Prefer men, single and unattached. Have had problem with girl-friends, less with wives. Self starter is a must. email me first. We have some great future! I myself have a difficulty to adjust to it. Love you and thanks.

New! Guys!
I've just put up a page with 19 photos of sizzling women, feature entertainers, not porn stars (I think!) whose identity I couldn't figure out. Please help me. Click here to go the Guess page. You'll see the pictures and some clues. Please email me your suggestions. It's fun, and it helps me. If this goes well, I'll do this all the time. I get tons of jpegs e-mailed to me, every day, without proper identification. Maybe it would be easier to ask the sender, but by the time I get to it, I can't remember who'd sent them. And I am left with beautiful women, whose identity I can't decipher. So you can be helpful. At least some of you. And I truly appreciate your partnership. Love you,
Sophie
PS: I've also put up two new interviews! Wow! very interesting ones. Check them out.

New!
It's Tuesday, and for the first time in years I am glad that there are all these competing papers, or whatever, out there. Because for the first time they occurred to me like a resource. So tonight I scanned one of them, and posted all the events for the NY/CT area, that they had there. Tomorrow, if time permits, I'll scan the NJ competition, and add the NJ events. Yuppeeee! for the competition. And you guys? Go and frequent the clubs, and tell them that Sophie sent you. Sorry, no coupons, discounts, etc, because the clubs never asked me to promote them, they prefer to give their money to my competition. And I prefer to serve them and their customers. Paid/unpaid.
Love you guys, and will do much anything for you.

New!
It's Wednesday, and I am sitting in front of my computer contemplating life. No, I am contemplating
Life, with capital L. The visitor counter is 999,300 or so, and that means I will have a chance
to watch it roll over a million. That is 970,000 in a year. Last year, exactly at this time,
when I personally took charge of our Internet site, it had 30,000 on the same counter.
I called my girl-friend at about 11 am to find some sympathetic ears to cry into.
1997 was a horrible year. It took more courage, more intestinal fortitude, more strength of
character to stay in the game than ever before in my life. It took, really, all I've got.
The gains, at least on the surface were minimal, negligible. Yes, I built an Internet site that guys like, and the stars are happy to appear on. Yes, I developed a way to be well, and even live till a 120, buy yet, today I can barely move, the cold got to my bones. and yes, I have a magazine that people love, cherish, collect, and were demanding, during the months of no publication, my return. And yet, 1997 can't end early enough.
On the other hand, when I think of 1998, my heart fills with hope, serenity, sunshine. I feel, deep, like never before, that in 1998 my ship comes in.
I use numerology when no other science or discipline helps me stay positive. 1997 was the year of the phoenix, you know, that mythological bird that alternately burned to death and rose from its ashes, more beautiful than before. My entire life was a story of burn/rise/burn/rise. So in that regard it was not news to me. It was harder to rise, I have to admit that.
1998, by the same numerological logic, will be the year of the beacon. And lucky me, I always enjoyed being a beacon. How I see it, a beacon goes ahead, discovers lands considered unknown or unsafe, and shines the light there, so that it can be inhabited by the rest of the people. I like being a pioneer, I love risk, I love discovery, I like to be an innovator, and I love shining the light on the previously unknown for all to know. I think I'll like this 1998. I think I am finally even going to be rewarded for my persistence, and resilience. I think 1998 will be the best year of my life. Or at least the first best year in a long row of best years.
I'd like to invite you to follow me to this unending, magical series of magnificent, exciting, satisfying, breathtaking, beautiful years. Years of prosperity, generosity, and a sense of workability. I have been working so hard on this. A future in which sexuality is a source of power and self-expression. I am excited! Are you coming?

New!
It's Sunday. I just finished to put up the November issue of "Batteries Not Included" with about 10 interesting articles, a Ginger Lynn filmography, and 100 film-titles and description of 100 good porno movies. The first 202 was posted earlier. Check it all out.

New!
It's Sunday. Last night I got out the magazine in 20 clubs,
in the midst of the first snowfall of the year,
at least in this area (Central NJ & NYC). I got rear ended once, and I bumped into a parking
car while backing up, once. Luckily neither times my car got hurt,
but the car that rear-ended me looks sad.
I came home early, it was double the effort to keep safe and moving, and put up a few assc posting.
Honestly, these are the best writings about the club scene and what a man feels when he is
in a club, watching dancers, talking to them, or getting a lapdance from them.
I have about 20-25, but it's all over the place, so it takes longer to find them than to
post them. Bear with me... it will take a few weeks, but it's worth the wait.
this month's
magazine. Please check it out.

Guys, I need help in delivering the magazine to clubs both in NJ and NY. Please, help, if you can. I know, this is the worst week of the year to ask for help, yet, I need it now. Please let me know. Phone me: 315-278-3030.
Saturday, December 20, 1997
New! The new issue of Mentertainment Magazine was printed yesterday and I have already dropped it off in about 15 clubs. I got home at 1:30 am, I was so tired I looked stiff.
I just put up a few more interviews, Nikki Lynn, Carolina, Keisha. That makes a total about 12 interviews. I have a lot, but it seems it takes about 2 hours to prepare each for posting. I beg your patience. Check it out.
Last night I had an appointment at Flashdancers in NYC. The place was so packed I couldn't believe it. They had 94 girls, and 5 bigboob features, Nikki Knockers, Staci Staxxx (with her huge tongue), Dusty Busty, Colt 45 and Jessie James. My meeting was with the owner, so I had a chance to see some of the inner workings of a club. The girls, 4 blondes and a brunette (Jessie) were taking polaroids at a huge armchair, right by my customer's regular sitting place. They were towering on customers, signing autographed, were friendly, sweet, and yes, actually beautiful. They bought a beautiful sweater for the owner, probably some cashmere, because I watched them caressing it with some fervor and encouraging the owner to do the same. He didn't seem interested. "What is this about men only interested in them being touched?" asked one of the features. We all laughed. Then she whispered into my ears: "I always try to give them credit, maybe, one day... you know?" Wow guys, the opinion is bad about you. You need to enjoy touching. Or touch? Which is better.
Anyway, enjoy your holiday season, and pick up a magazine if you can. Love you, Sophie, your publisher/editor/web-mistress

New York: 5 boroughs, Long Island, Rockland/Westchester/Putnam/Ulster 3. Eastern Connecticut. Just a few stops... you don't have to work for free a lot, but my love will always be with you. Thanks. Last week I worked with Rex, a friend of mine, and set up a CGI server in my office. The plan: block off about 300 of the 2,000 pages, and make them restricted to members only. I love doing things for free, but my landlord doesn't appreciate that I don't pay my rent. I need to make money, somehow.

I just finished 128 black and white pictures for My Fair Lady, a go-go bar in Elizabeth. Check it out.
Sunday, November 9, 1997
I have been working my ass off... I just finished another 30 pages, all adult stars, fanclubs, etc, with pictorials. Check it out.
New! Surprise! On Thursday morning, when the alarm went off at 6:30 am, I popped out of bed with a strange thought in my mind, "I was gone, and now I am back!" Now, that doesn't make sense, I thought, because I never left. But as consciousness and the ability to think coherently started to settle in a few minutes and a cup of coffee later, I realized, that I have been gone, for more than a year. Stopping the magazine, and swearing never to do it again, was just the tail end of being gone. And, who knows why, I am back, and I am ready to tackle it again... I mean publish a magazine, talk to people, take pictures, create ads, collect money, deliver magazines, keep/miss deadlines, whatever a publisher, who works alone always does, regardless of the topic, or the profitability of the enterprise. So I am back. Now what?
Well, I guess, I am working on a magazine issue right now. For starters, I'll call this issue, Sophie's Mentertainment® Backpages, and will fill it mostly with bachelor party ads, massage parlor ads, escort service ads, help wanted and dancer costume/hair etc. ads. Whatever normally goes in the back of the magazine.
And I'll probably publish my interview with Nikki Lynn, and maybe the pictorial of the Cesar Video staff. Starting easy, starting with only New Jersey. Look for the next issue in the clubs in about two weeks.
And thanks for sticking with me, by me. I think this is what brought me back.

I just finished uploading a pictorial for Spanky's, NJ and another one of Nikki Lynn, talented, beautiful, smart pornstar, pictures that I took at T&A's late summer. Check them out.

Here are two things that I am doing.
1. it seems that accidentally some Union county clubs' black and white scans were spared, so I am preparing them for publication.
2. At the Mentertainment Party at Hurrahs, I took pictures, and they are worth visiting.
3. A few years ago Fiddle & Bow gave me a birthday party. The birthday present was very appropriately a young hunk stripper and it turned out that I was the show together with him. We did 69, and many other funky stuff... All legal. At the end of the show he asked me out, but I told him that I don't date children... The photographer who I took with me took some 60 pictures. They are great. I am planning to put them on a few pages in the weeks to come
4. I have some 400 articles, editorials, club reviews, interviews with famous dancers, interviews with local dancers, and interviews that other people from other publications conducted with me. They are interesting reading, and I am in the process of putting them up on the web. They may even be searchable, so that you can put in some keywords, and get the appropriate article. What is up, and it's new, is the bits&pieces directory, where I have the jokes, and the word of the month, penis, pussy, etc. Check it out.
5. In the chaos of changing my business I almost forgot the Mentertainment Party we had ad Spanky's in West Orange. They were supposed to be on the cover... but there is nothing to be on the cover of any longer. So they will be pictured in a pictorial in a few days. The party was good, and as always, what made it wonderful, is the customers who treated me like a queen. I won the banana contest, both at Spanky's and at Hurrahs. That is the only sex I have nowadays, so I better make the best of it
6. If any of you out there live close to me (Linden, NJ) and want to help me putting these articles on the web... that would be super. You could also help me scan, but sorry, it has to happen in my house, the pictures can't leave the premises. If you want to help, for helping's sake... don't forget, I am 50 years old, so please don't do that to meet with me... do not waste my time! then please e-mail me or call me at 315-278-3030. Thank you. Sophie/editor, publisher, webmistress
NEW HAPPENINGS
Visit our completely overhauled Bachelor Party Pages, Massage Parlor Pages. They are beautiful. I know all of them, they have been advertising with me for years. I recommend all of them. There are two new club-advertisers, Hott 22, Union NJ, and Bare Elegance, W 50th St, Manhattan, NY
Editor's Notes:
Life hasn't been very kind to me... in the last month 3 large capacity hard drives failed, and that means about 20,000 pictures were scanned and edited in vain, unless the data can be recovered from the hard drives. The technician says, the drives are paperweights, but I can't leave it at that. On the other hand it cost around $4,000 to have the data recovered. I am dirt poor, right now, old money is gone, new money is not coming, first priority is to pay the bills. Do you know anyone who would want to help? If so, e-mail me, please.
Thanks.
Sophie
