In the arid wasteland that is New York City in the Giuliani era, I feel like Lawrence of Arabia with flippers and goggles doing a cannonball in the deep end.

WOW!! ......I do believe I stumbled on an OASIS tonight.

Just over the 59th Street Bridge into Queens at 2700 Queens Plaza is a brand spanking new club named "CityScape". They have been promoting this place rather heavily in the tabloids, and word on TUSCL and ASSC is that the action/aesthetics figure is pretty damn noteworthy, so i decided a research trip was in order.

Fellas........ let me put it to you quite simply..... if you are interested in extremely attractive women grinding the bejesus out of you in a commercial establishment at journeyman pricing, this place is unparalled in the recent history of NYC pervdom. Okay, okay... maybe I've lost my perspective a bit, and I'm over the top here. CityScape may or may not be better than the average heartland McDeja Vu on the nasty continuum... but in NYC, it's as good as it gets, as good as it EVER got, which says a lot in these uptight stuffed shirt times.

CityScape is on the 2nd floor of a rather nondescript commercial building literally right off the bridge. You pass through a metal detector (always an auspicious indicator of good funk potential). and pay a very modest $5 cover charge. On a Friday evening after 10 PM, the place was packed. Even though it's only a month old, one gets the distinct impression there are already "regulars", as it has a well worn ambience.

There are 4 stages, three of which feature 1 dancer and the main stage has 4 or 5. The place is crawling with eye poppin babes.... not a mediocre one in the bunch. There is someone for practically every taste, equal numbers of Whites, Blacks and Latina dancers.

Lowkey, low pressure, but NOT low energy. No glum faces in this place. When the girls are off their stage set, they circulate in search of lap consumers, but unlike so many midtown clip joints of yore, there is no "buy the girl a drink" scam. In this regard, CityScape is very much in the Queens/Brooklyn tradition of tavern ambiance, as opposed to the tourist trap mentality that pervades (pervaded) the Times Square hustle houses of yesteryear (good riddance!). Still, seduction is a serious business. One must find that all embracing comfort zone between "wanna dance?" finger pointing mechanics and "dancer as wallflower" practiced indifference that makes the SC experience as titillating as watching paint dry. Mercifully, the CityScape entertainers are well trained in the art of the persuasive come on....... but now comes the good part.......THEY ACTUALLY DELIVER!!!!

NYC Lap grindage is second only to the now defunct Harmony, if one does not include Club 90 and some of the outer borough fly by night jack shacks. The lap lounge is first class... plush leather couches decorated with tight g-stringed hotties... a fine decorating choice. Okay...... gropage is NOT on the level one grew accustomed to at the Harmony. The policy is "hands at your side", and the tux hippos do seem vigilant about eyeballing the action, but from the dancers standpoint it is ANYTHING GOES........FULL SPLOOGE A HEAD! Maybe I was lucky, but the 3 dancers I got laps with (Cocoa****, Barbie****, and Icy***) all pushed the envelope about as damn far as one could in the presence of a supposed authority figure. No, it isn't Tampa, it isn't SF, but these are very very fine NYC girls, and that is niiiiiiice!!

As has increasingly become the case over the past couple of years, I found myself gravitating to the Dominican dancers.... something about that "AY, Poppiiiii!!" come-on whispered in my ear gets me every time, and I have yet to find a Domincana who delivers anything less than a world class bump-n-grind.

Laps are $20.... kind of steep by NYC standards, but that always seems to include a drawn out seduction and a long goodbye with about 5 minutes of industrial strength rock polishing in between. They run a 2 for 1 occasionally, although the songs seemed to be slightly clipped. Still, it's a relative bargain. (6-7 minutes for a jackson)

I had a GREAT time there, over the course of 2-3 hours.... and this is coming from someone who had grown so weary of the NYC scene that I was on the verge of preserving my lap shorts in formaldehyde and donating them to the Museum of Unnatural History. I will definitely return to CityScape, and highly recommend it to all.
